Print Errata – 1st Print of the Revised Edition

  • Page 21: In Chapter 1, under the subheading ‘Misotheism: The Hatred of God’, it says towards the end: “God does is not content with the occurrence of evil and suffering.”
  • Page 74: In Chapter 4, under subheading ‘Atheism is Self-Evidently True’, it says: “Although atheism is now also a universal position (and may have been since the beginning of recorded history), it is not taught and is counter-intuitive.” It should say “it is taught and counter-intuitive.”
  • Page 129: In Chapter 7, under the subheading,”‘It’s in the Complexity’: Emergent Materialism”, it says: “In the context of the argument presented in this chapter, accepting an explanation that actually explains the hard problem of consciousness is more rational then accepting an approach that does not.” It should be ‘than’.
  • Page 198, first paragraph: it says “Consider, for instance, incest…” it should say “Another way to dismiss Harris’s argument is to show that some things that can promote our well being are morally abhorrent. Consider, for instance, incest…”
  • Page 233, last paragraph: It says “…orientalist and scholar Thedor…”, it should say, “…orientalist and scholar Theodor…”
  • Page 240, middle paragraph: It says “In this light, the explanation that the Qur’an is a result of the Muhammad’s…”, it should be “In this light, the explanation that the Qur’an is a result of the Prophet Muhammad’s…”
  • Page 242, 2nd paragraph: It is says “Applying this reasoning back the Qur’an…”, it should say. “Applying this reasoning back to the Qur’an…”
  • Page 248, towards the end: it says “…was either a liar, or deluded, or speaking the truth.” It should say “…was either a liar, deluded, or speaking the truth.”
  • Page 253, last paragraph: it says “In other words, it is has no basis…” it should say “In other words, it has no basis…”
  • Page 254: It says “In order for the text of the report to be accepted the number…” It should be “In order for the text of the report to be accepted, the number…” A comma after ‘accepted’ should be placed.
  • Page 256, under subtitle ‘Mercy and compassion’: It says “…and when asks for a payment.” it should be “…and when he asks for a payment.”
  • Page 258, under subtitle ‘Community and peace’: It says “By God, he does nor truly believe”, it should be “By God, he does nor truly believe!”
  • Page 258, under subtitle ‘Community and peace’: It says “All mankind is from Adam and Eve…” Every instance of ‘or’ in that Prophetic statement should be changed to ‘nor’.
  • Page 267: Every instance of ‘Inter-racial’ should be spelt “Interracial”, including the subtitle.
  • Page 267: It says “…and that they were economically emancipated…” It should say “…and he was telling them that they were economically emancipated…”
  • Page 269: Its says “Al-Khawarizmi” is should say “Al-Khwarizmi”
  • Page 269: It says “Abul al-Qasim Az-Zahrawi”, it should say “Abul al-Qasim Al-Zahrawi”
  • Page 272 and 273, starts at end of page 272: it says “… a strong case for his being the final messenger of God.” It should say “”… a strong case to claim that he is the final messenger of God.”
  • Page 274: It says, “Therefore, nothing you do can be deserving of something that you can never acquire yourself.” Sentence to be deleted.
  • Page 275: Chapter 15, it says “Since polytheism and atheism either have…”, it should say “Since polytheism and atheism have…”
  • Page 282: Change subtitle from “God has created and also sustains everything” to “God has created and sustains everything” remove ‘also’
  • Page 284, towards the end of the last paragraph: it says “Eric Fromm echoes this idea…”, it should be “Erich Fromm echoes this idea…”
  • Page 286: It says “These names share the same root as the previous…” It should say “These names share the same linguistic root…”
  • Page 291, second paragraph: It says “…but rather a necessary manifestation…” it should say “…but rather a manifestation…”
  • Page 297, first paragraph; it says ‘…: what can be called our drama, and the other reality.” It should say “…: one is our drama and the other is our reality.”
